God did create such a wonderful place. Every day I awe at his detail. But don't forget that the school, the oval, and even your own house all was once part of the "greater" Oatley Park? Man has transformed God's earth in a million ways some for good and some not.

Homebush was a rubbish/waste dump but now it's a integral part of Sydney, and I love the parks there.

A mobile phone tower and radio hut are not going destroy God's creation as much as you think.

A week or so back I watched Oatley park protestors go frantic over the construction of the site. They were yelling "Quick get a photo of that! The Cherry picker snapped a twig".... NOW get back to reality people.

Snapping a twig would actually promote new growth. Maybe we could all reflect on this and treat the hutch site as new growth (good or bad).

I understand that not all people have my view and I acept that, as I do respect your's

I wait for your response :>

[> [> What! My TV emits EMR!? -- Book, 00:44:23 04/14/03 Mon

As I said earlier, knowledge corrupts.

I suspect that somewhere along the line the instigator of this debacle has heard that EMR is bad, realised cellular base station antennas emit EMR, found out someone was building a tower in their 'back-yard' and so decided to protest. Of course this person only had enough knowlegde to decide they didn't like EMR and not enough to make an informed decision.

They forget/ignore how much non-ionising radiation they receive every day from their computer/TV CRTs, microwave ovens, power lines, radio stations, the hundreds of radio comm. links operating in Sydney, even the mobile phones they hold up to their brains to have a conversation.

I assume these protestors will be keeping their children and themselves away from medical imaging such as CAT, MRI and X-rays.

Why not protest something dangerous.

What's with the webmaster deleting certain posts. What's wrong with different opinions? You have to approve them now? Because you don't like what they say! That is not a very good way of advertising free speech and free opinions, is it? Sounds pretty repressive to me. By the way, 'j-', and 'james stevens' are different people. You'll find that there are quite a few people who don't mind the tower being installed. A positive poster 'AW' has told someone that he 'doesnt give a shit' if the tower is installed, and he 'doesnt care' about it. You're using little boys who are trying to earn brownie points to justify your opinions!

J:

this board is about responsible discussion.

Initially the board was not moderated; this resulted in posts containing personal insults, multiple posts from the same person under different names, mostly unattributed (don't forget when someone posts, their IP address is recorded and they are thus identifiable).

This sort of thing has meant that the forum is now moderated, and posts which abuse the rules of the forum will not be permitted.

The rules are fairly simple:

>> no personal abuse

>> contributers to correctly identify themselves - ie attributable name and email address.

>> no spamming.

>> relevance to the topic.

If you have an opinion, you are prepared to be open about your identity and are able to refrain from personal abuse, your comments will be welcome.

Regards
Michael Korber.
