It is kind of funny how we Xavier fans are always hearing from the UC fans that Xavier places too much importance on the Shootout and blah blah blah. Obviously each team wants to win that game, for local rivalry reasons, bragging rights, for a win over a quality opponent, etc. But as a Xavier graduate and long time fan who is well-connected with very many Xavier fans, there just isn't the emphasis placed on that game that many of you UC fans would like to believe. So now you are stressing the importance of the UC-XU game by telling us that it changed the entire season. Get a grip. It was just a loss (by XU) and we move on. It seems like you are overly concerned with the Shootout. We'd like to beat UC every single year, but of course we know that won't happen. So we are happy when we win, and we move on when we lose. Good luck against E. Carolina.
