Hey AF,
Thanks for the cyberhug, much appreciated. My poor psyche had been battered about that day and a semi-rant was the result. I'm not normally prone to them but they happen. I actually feel one coming on now.

My media boycott actually started in 1999 when my mom was first diagnosed with cancer. Mom died in 2001 from lung cancer ( 40 yr smoker). I have continued to avoid the media but it pops up continually. I am an avid radio listener (I drive A LOT for work) and mostly listen to music but most stations have a news break so it sneaks through. This evening more media snuck through when I went to the store. The newspapers were displayed and I read the headlines. The man who shot the six women was mentally ill.

My rant is we need more funding to help our mentally ill citizens. They are neglected too often and too often the neglect has terrible consequence for themselves and others. I want the war machine to stop and spend some dollars to help educate and care for American citizens.

I just get outraged sometimes and the indiffence our President has to his own citizens. I'm equally outraged that so many citizens don't recognize his indifference.

So, AF,on a much brighter note. The weather is good (low 70's). I have a summer cold and I get to stay home from work. My family is safe and healthy and we're going to have 2 new babies in the family in the fall. Have you ever shopped for baby clothes? They're like potato chips you can't just stop with one outfit.

I hope you stay cool it looks miserably hot in Chicago.
