Flame watched the creature carefully, his movements were swift and graceful. His fear melted swiftly, like snow on a spring day. Somehow he knew the creature would not harm him. He placed flints of ebony forward in a few cautious steps. His ears swiveled around to listen, no sound escaping their dark depths. He reached forward, stretching his smooth, muscular neck its full length to sniff at the coil. He stored the scent, it was pleasing, not ominous. He then moved to sniff the apple, happy to recive such a treat. Snatching it up he retraced his steps, watching the other while chewing, misty droplets of sweet juice escaping his teacup muzzle.
