I don't think it would hurt to brush it with oil or melted butter, you WILL get juice, after a few hours, I looked in the oven and there was a TON of juice! I usually make mine in the crock pot, but it looks MUCH nicer in the oven!

So, anyhow, I got off on a tangent there, what I am saying is, use your best judgement, if it looks like it is drying out, baste it, I don't think it would hurt anything!
