This child deserves a lot more than that.

I would tell the mom thanks for her trust in you but that you would like her to find someone to care for her child on a permanent basis.

It's not fair to any child to try out the business of child care, only to find out that you don't like it. It involves a HUGE commitment to the children and to their families. It's consuming and demanding..I'm here 12 hours a day 5 days a week. It's a lot different than breeding animals and tending a farm. If you're going to do it, I think you better be damn sure that's what you want to do. I'm not reading that type of commitment in your post.
