First would be to stop advertising in newspapers and flyers. I say this for two reasons...the first would be not worth the money...which brings me to the second...you get a lot of strange cases that way.

I also recommend calling your local extension office in the courthouse that deals with state approved childcare. They can get give you the rules of a state approved childcare and numbers to call to see if money is available to help you get started.

Once you are state approved, they put you on a list of providers that they give out to anyone that calls their office looking for someone to care for thier children. Ours also offers programs for 2 or 3 bucks a pop for providers to attend to learn new ideas and such on children. This is a great way to get your name out, even if you are not state approved.

I know that in PA, I can run a 3 children and less home (not including my own) and be reviewed by the state (meaning, they know about me, they can keep track off me...they can't offer me...but I can participate in the learning training that they offer).

Good luck
