Subject: Central Park Zoo is cool
In reply to: Lawshark 's message, "Yo bfny! How is the Central Park Zoo?" on 05:59:14 11/14/05 Mon

not the best zoo in the world - the Bronx Zoo is much better - but what they have is really good just on a much smaller scale. It's absolutely fine for a kid - easily digestible and when you get out, you're right in the middle of Central Park. Definitely, you should do it. Somewhere in Central Park, they have the carousel as well as a cool Alice in Wonderland playground area - which is right next to a pond where people sail their toy boats. Sam dug that, I remember.

I've always found FAO Schwartz to be over-rated but it is convenient to Central Park. If you venture into Times Square, you should try the Toys R' Us flagship store.

You may want to check out Rock Center. I believe the tree is in place although it won't be lit until early December. They just opened "Top of the Rock" - the completely redone observatory at Rock Center. And you can watch the ice skaters at the rink.

I highly doubt I'm going to see much of you based on your events and Sam's packed social calendar. Friday around five pm, though, I might be able to say hi and drop off for you an executive pass for the Empire State Building. The pass lets your family bypass each and every line on the way up to and down from the ob deck. It's also free but the cost savings is totally secondary to the time saving.

Saturday, Sam has basketball followed by a birthday party. Sunday, I'm taking him to his first Knicks game, which starts at noon.
