Subject: OUR TOPIC THAT IS OPEN FOR DISCUSSION IS THIS...m

In the Ensign VT message for this month, it spoke about preparing to receive personal revelation. My topic for discussion kind of has something to do with this, but not everything.

What I want for us to discuss is how difficult do you find it to keep up with doing what we ought to be doing when you feel no desire to do it at all? Is this something you find that you can just continue to do automatically (personal prayers, spousal prayers, etc), or does it really make you have to concentrate even harder?

I am not assuming it is a trial of your faith, but how hard is it to do things when we have lost or misplaced that desire to do so?

J

wanting to make the time to read my scriptures every day. I used to be so good at this. I know that it would make my day go more smoothly and help me feel closer to the spirit. But scripture reading has kind of taken the back seat in my life.

After my meeting the other night I vowed to myself to do better at SR. Even though the desire is not always there, I need to mentally make myself start reading a few verses a day to get back on track. Then maybe that desire will return. I have the same problem with exercising!! ~~Sheila(spilling her guts, but not needing sympathy!!_
