Subject: Red meat has a ton of iron(M)
In reply to: Sandra 's message, "Jayton wen't for his KD follow-up and the doctor heard a heart murmur..m" on 01:54:51 04/22/03 Tue

Everytime I get anemic, (which is every few years), I eat liver sausage or braunshweigher (sp.?), tastes a heck of a lot better than liver & onions. Liver has a TON of iron in it.

Don't they even fortify all of our cereals now with iron??? The box of Corn Pops I have on my desk right now has 10% of our daily recommended dose of iron.

Many prayers going out to lil' Jayton. I know he will be fine. I had a heart murmur as well when I was a teen and it's gone now. No traces.

Jeanne
