Bathrooms...

I cant paint our bathrooms..being in military housing, its frowned upon and if you do do it, you have to re-paint when you move out and its just a lot of work... so Im going to have to make do with accessories I guess.. no idea on a theme.. the kids bathroom is small..same size as the one in our bedroom..and right now has a fish shower curtain and rug.. so maybe I can just make that into something more.. our bathroom has a flowered curtain but nothing else really.. so I could probably do anything I want in there.. although I dont know what.

the downstairs bathroom is just a sink and toilet and theres sort of a color theme going on in there.. peach and blue.. butterflies and flowers.. but its not anything special..

I would LOVE to re-do my bedroom while dh is gone but Im so clueless! I have ideas in my head but cant seem to figure out how to pull them together. bleh

now.. for periods..

I think youre doing great! My mom worked full time in the air force when i was growing up so my first period I had come home from school, went to the bathroom and there it was.. i called her and she told me to use one of her pads under the sink.. it was like a diaper. bleh., but I managed.. so i dont have anything real special to tell you about.. hmm I dont use tampons.. ive used one here and there but they are uncomfortable and for some unknown reason they seem to slide down and get to the point where theyre practically falling out of me.. soooo all i can say about that is to remember that she may not like them if she tries them, so try not to let your idea of pads being 'yuck' get into her head.. just in case the tampons dont work for her. if she ends up loving tampons and hating pads then you can agree with her LOL but this way, if she prefers pads, she doesnt feel bad about that decision.
my only bad experiences were the diaper sized pads my mom had.. i went out after that and tried several different kinds and brands etc.. until I found the ones I liked.. they were thin and worked for me.. my friends all used the always brand and i hated them.. and then felt dumb for hating them when everyone else liked them LOL.. but i found my favorite and stuck to them.. until I found a new favorite when they stopped making my favorites. lol so tell her she can try different kinds, styles etc if she wants to.. it may take time to find what she likes.
Also, my only other bad experiences back then were with leaking.. bleh but i think most of us have probably leaked at some point in our lives. its embarassing but we live through it somehow.. sigh...

ooh ooh and maybe you could also buy her a little make up bag or something to put her pads/tampons into to put in her purse so no one sees them when she opens it to get a pen out in class.. you know how boys are.

thats all i can think of...

good luck and i think youre doing a great job!!!!
