I only had to get a new one at that point because the bag had ripped away from the plastic holder that held it to the handle. Another part of it had broken oo on the bttom so it was a bit lopsided, but that breaking bag was the factor that made me say I haev to go get one NOW. I could deal with the lopsidedness. I could't deal with a broken bag.

I am not the person to give recommendations on anything. I tend to go with cheaper stuff because I hate to spend money. I guess that is because we don't have a lot. I have a friend who has a Kirby( I believe that is what it is) but they are also a lot of money, like close to 1,000 and more, but I have heard they are awesome and that you don't have to dust as often because they vacuum with water in the base and the dirt goes in there instead of being able to come back out of the bag. And you can clean your carpets with them too.
