Great advice. I like this part especially,

"I recommend the earlier ones because they have the durasteel which is more rust resistant, and have few issues."

Personally, the other thing I don't like about the new style is that the door is too small, and it's hard for a tall person like me to get in without hitting my head. I have never measured, but I am sure this is so. I am in and out of different Xterras all the time, and I always notice this.

The one trade-off? I always hated the seats in my old style Xterra. They are weak, IMHO. The new style X has seats that are way better. (So you could get one from a junkyard if it really mattered to ya.)

All in all, great advice Schlud. (And thanks again for the nifty whistles.)
