Hey Chris,

Seems like just yesterday. (Didn't you rent a car and return it to the place on Route 9 in Natick, and I gave you a ride back-wasn't that you?) If I recall, you have a Green Xterra. Maybe I am wrong on both counts. I know I have a photo of you and your new X here somewhere, and heck, at least I have a good idea where "ChrisinVermont" is from, right Schlud? :-)

Wow, ten years, isn't it? Amazing. (Two frogs are sitting on a lily pad. One turns to the other and says, "Isn't time fun when you're having flies?) But I digress....

These days I am working part time at Nissan of Keene. Oddly enough, it's in Keene NH.

I'll tell you something I have noticed. I see cars come in on trade that are rusty. Cats which down here in Massachusetts wouldn't be rusty. Just a two hour ride up North, and the difference in how rusty the cars are is very obvious. Being further north in Vermont, I betcha it's even more pronounced.

Salt really makes a big, big difference. That's why I tell people that at least every other week- you have to take your vehicle to the car wash and *have the undercarriage* rinsed off*. It matters. It makes a real difference down the road.

Sell it. It's not going to get any better. Best bet would have been to get off it about a year or so ago. But, it's not going to get any better. Nothing in a can going to solve the problem.

Then contact me at my new store. 603-357-7945. I'll either get you a new one or keep my eyes out for a really nice used one. (We have a used 2008 right now, Silver, that's in great shape.)

It's nice to hear from you. Sorry about the rust. "Rusty but trusty", as I like to say. Next time, rinse the underside off to get rid of salt. Salt make steel rust much, much faster.

But hey, you folks have all those nice mountains and people who slow down and say, "Hi", so it's a good trade-off. Prolly the nicest state in America, if you ask me.
