I think it would get some momentum if gas prices were still at $4/gal, but right now with everyone hunkering down, who wants to add a car payment to their budget? My Xterra is paid off, and I use it almost exclusively for outdoor activities which it is exceptional at. A new Honda doesn't replace it.

But that's just me. Someone who's stuck commuting in an Xterra every day with a resale value of $8k, it could make good sense.
