I had a 1989 Isuzu Amigo for 3 years. It was one TOUGH little truck.

On my birthday in 1989, my wife ran it into the corner of the house. The repair cost for the Amigo was $1800 for the left front fender, and accessories, but it ran fine. Damage to the house was $2800.00.

A year later (nearly to the day), I was driving to work, through a dense fog bank, when a deer ran out and I smacked it with the right front fender. I pulled over, got out, pulled the fender off the tire and drove it on to work. Damage was $2000.00. Had to prove to the insurance ajuster that I'd actually hit a deer. I reached inside and pulled out a section of antler (still in velvet) that had gone through the radiator, but never caused a leak. He took the antler as proof positive, and didn't even make me pay a deductible. I guess he was embarrassed for trying to make me out a lier.

I only trade the Amigo when we decided to have a baby, and found out the car seat would NOT fit in the back seat of the truck. Oh well.
