See if you can find an Xterra to drive that has the tires which are the most different from what you have now, of the two you are considering. And see how you like the ride and the noise level.

I can tell you that big, bad-ass, aggressive tires will not only make your Xterra beefier looking, they will also make it sit up higher- surprisingly so. BUT....

There is a trade-off. Big muscular rubber also makes the ride louder- something to think about in an SUV which is already noisier than a passenger car.

As with so many things in life, it's just a question of personal taste. I myself like the Big Boy tires, but that's just me.
