RESIDENTS GET NEW BANKING SYSTEM
-Financial Director, Anissa Herendez, has reported that the new banking system from ModTheSims2 has been successfully implemented and most residents have set up savings/checking accounts. These accounts make the paperwork easier for keeping track of resident's simoleans, enable easier transactions bewteen residents and even increase amenities such as online shopping, ability to write articles for the local paper and more. By the end of this simweek-all loans will be converted to the new system and all old accounts will be closed and converted to the new banking system. Please consult the handout for more information.
APPLE VALLEY TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR PIERCE UNIVERSITY
-Applications for students are being taken now. There are limited spots for international students from other hoods. To apply, send application-including name, desired major and brief essay [<100 words] about your life's goals to Apple Valley . Priority will be given to international students who will permanently move to Apple Valley upon graduation.
SUMMER FAIRE BEGINS
-To celebrate summer, Apple Valley will have a weeklong celebration, Summer Faire, packed with events for all ages. The Faire will begin this simweek, starting with the welcome party of Starr Grey and her family followed by the premire of "The English Tearose". Please consult the schedule that was distributed to all residents for event dates and times.

-Darrel Kent, owner of CupaJava, has confirmed that the local CupaJava will be closed down. The downtown location is still open for business and will be having a half off sale of espressos for the Summer Faire week.
-Elle Kent has opened "Fashion Runway", a premir clothing store and headquarters for her new magazine. During Summer Faire week, residents get a 5% discount on clothing purchased.
-Adriana Tierra Pierce, owner of the 10-Star "Snips" salon, has confirmed plans to open a downtown location in "Fashion Runway", expect to see the award winning stylist in the next few days. She has also confirmed that she will still work her own salon as well.
-Leroy Mendenhall of "Farmer's Market" has expanded the selection of foods to include deli sandwiches, fresh salads and slices of cake in addition to whole cakes. Fresh veggies will continue to be sold
