Google挑戰微軟開發軟件市場

　【本報綜合報道】全球搜尋網站龍頭Google周日表示，將拓展搜尋與廣告以外的業務，踏足商用軟件市場，開始提供電子郵件、日程安排與溝通等一系列網絡服務。

　Google表示已創建一個軟件平台提供基本企業服務，此舉意味該公司進一步挑戰軟件龍頭微軟（Microsoft）。Google在「Google Apps for Your Domain」上為小型企業、大學以及非牟利機構提供免費的網絡程式，而滿足較大型企業和政府機構的服務則將於今年稍後推出。

　Google企業服務部門總經理吉拉德說：「如果我們執行得好，不管是在提供操作簡易的軟件還是低成本的商用應用程式，我們都能獲取最大的利益。」

　初步的應用程式包括電子郵件Gmail、即時通訊軟件Google Talk、網絡電話服務、行事曆安排Google Calendar以及網頁製作設計軟件Google Page Creator等。吉拉德說，Google會不斷增加新的功能，未來會增加Writely文字處理器和Google試算表等。

　國際數據公司（IDC）的分析師費德曼表示，Google提供這些應用程式後，等於是與微軟在商用軟件市場公開競爭。不過，吉拉德強調，Google Apps平台並非要取代微軟的核心軟件，許多企業可能會在員工的電腦上同時運行視窗和Office軟件以及Google Apps平台。
