搜尋器 Google日前於書籍搜尋首頁上開始提供全文下載的選項，當使用者按下此選項，並進行書籍搜尋時，只要出現在搜尋結果頁的書籍，已被列為public-domain或公共所有著作權，便能下載該書籍的完整PDF版，可將整部書籍儲存在電腦中或進行列印。公共所有著作權指的是那些著作權年限已過期，包括著名的經典文學作品或是較少人知的學術文件。Google將圖書館所收藏的書籍數碼化是開啟了歷史事件的資訊寶庫，將過去那些一般人難以獲得的重要事件，讓更多人瀏覽。 (都市)
