漫談管理﹕能「自治」 方算「盡本分」 2006年8月14日

上期談及，要發揮「自治精神」，必先具備某項條件，才可行之有效。其中，除自覺、自愛、自重外，還有﹕

4)自制。指「自我約束，不用他人管制」但談何容易﹖大家不妨靜觀細想，某些人為了追逐名利，往往不顧一切或不擇手段，做出「損人利己」的事情。這些「利慾薰心」之徒，常自掘墳墓——輕則取辱，重則喪命﹗《老子•四十四章》有云﹕「知足不辱，知止不殆。」意思指，知道滿足，就不會受到屈辱﹔知道適可而止，就不會有危險。看來，懂得「適可而止」者，才會「自制」，才不至於斷送前途﹗

5)自律。指「約束自己」，即所謂「律己」。律?猁?猁作名詞解作「法制」(如法律)﹔作動詞則解釋為「用法律來約束」。換句話，要做到「自律」，個人必先重視法制，才會按規則辦事，才不至於有所偏袒﹗

6)自省。指「自我察省」。要做得到，並非易事，個人必先具備「反省」素質(即回想個人所作所為是對是錯)。曾子說﹕「吾日三省吾身﹕為人謀而不忠乎﹖與朋友交而不信乎﹖傳不習乎﹖」意思說，我每天都會反省﹕為別人策劃或做事，是否盡心盡力﹖與朋友交往，是否誠實﹖有否溫習老師所傳授的知識﹖

就「為人謀」而言，打工仔若做事認真和負責任，不是對公司、對同事有所交代嗎﹖所謂「盡本分」，正是「自治」的另一體現。
