To the best of my memory there has only ever been one player unable to attend a granfinal due to work commitments by 4 - 4.30 pm. However I'm sure everyone wants ALL players to be available so how do we accommodate those who are working ? Do we start all games later which will impact on the catering arrangements and the hungry ? Or do we just start the workers later ? Do we change the Saturday to a Sunday ? What about a Monday night with no presentation dinner just the games ? What about playing around 3 pm on the Monday public holiday in October ?
Do we need to change the starting time for the champions of champions day as well ? Do we change anything at all ?
Alex, what would be a fair definition of leniency as to the player running late ? I think you've raised a very valid point but we have to remember that any changes should be made to represent the wishes/needs of the majority of players.
