Subject: **The old wolf sits on the pier...**

**He sits there, staring at the horizon. He has a worn blue tunic on over a long-sleeved mail shirt. His fur has turned a silvery grey, nearly white. Callused paws are covered by leather gloves. A one-handed sword hangs at his side. There is a sheild strapped upon his back. He has a great horn on his hip, made from a horn of some beast. His pants, worn and grey, tied on to his light boots. He has a blue cape that comes down his back. His face is hard, and he has a stubbly beard and mustache. He just watches the sun rise, a once great warrior. A bottle floats along, and he scoops it up. The once-great knight opens te bottle and out falls a letter and a map. The map is a sa, Smpetra, and Mossflower's north coast. He narrows his eyes, and he sees a sunken valley on the map. He opes the letter and reads thewords:**

"Gaily bedight
a gallant knight,
in sunshine and in shadow
Had journeyed long,
singing a song,
in search of Eldorado.

But he grew old,
This knight so bold,
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
no spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow-
'Shadow,' said he,
'Where can it be-
this land of Eldorado?'

'Over the Mountains
of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,'
the shade replied-
'if you seek for Eldorado!' "

**The knight gasps, reading it over and again. He puts the map and the poem back. He stands and stretches. For all his age, he is still a versatile old warrior. He's obviously very strong. He strides to the only boat for rent, a small and improper-looking boat. Mutters to himself.** The City Of Golden Dreams... does it exist? **Dreamed of it as a child...** I need a crew to come with me in earch of the city of gold. One last valorous quest before I grow too old to move... I ned only four companions...

His scarred claws, blood-stained fangs, and piratical figure show that he is a searat to the very core, even though he is too young to have gone on many quests.
