It's like this. Many seasons ago, there was an old pirate wildcat namd Rashallgorma (pretty long name, eh?), who was Captain of the ship Pikefang. He was one of the most powerful and ferocious of the sea-going cats, and his crew were vicious and terrible. Now when this old wildcat was slain by a stray arrow (it happned while he and his crew were explorin a plot o' land somewhere around Mossflower), his second-in-command, a ferret by the name of Bendro Nightwind,took over control of the crew. He was just as cruel and malicious as his predecessor, Rashallgorma. But since Bendro's personal trademark was the snake, he renamed the ship Viperfang. He once met up with a ship called the Nightmist, which was captained by a female stoat called Serla.Serla's crew were even more ferocious, and when the two ships battled, Bendro lost many valuable vermin and was froced to retreat. His crew had gone down to only about 30 or 35 beasts. Now when I took a good look at that ship over there, I was able to see a painting on the side of the ship, depicting a viper coiled up and ready to strike.
