More of a note really than specific help. Part of my family, the Wilcox's also originated from the Kilmersdon area. I beleive that the somerset seams were running low and then coal was discovered in the Welsh valleys. The majority of my male ancestors were miners covering hundreds of years. Im sure that the families settled in the Somerset Street area, hence the name. A very good website is http://www.welshcoalmines.co.uk
