Fred Sheen was one of nine Children,Amelia Kate,Tilley Rene, Gladys,Gilbert, Dave, Bill, & Joe. He was born in BOX in approx 1887, we think the family then came from Rennie Street, Canton, CARDIFF, moved to Caldicott, Newport, where Fred served his apprenticeship as a blacksmith. The family then moved to Gloucester then Chester.
Fred stayed in Llanilleth around 1914, my dad thinks he lived there, and moved to Abertillery around 1930's. His sister Tilley married Walter Summerhill (A lamp man in six Bells Colliery)and dad thinks they moved to Abertillery too.He thought Fred lived in Richmond Road.
My dad last seen his son Freddie Sheen from Newport around 1950-1960.My grandmother Kate married Sidney Mayo from Caldicott, and my dad Roy Mayo was born in 1916.
