Subject: Mining in 1800's

Is there such a site or index for obtaining the actually names, families info etc for the workers in the mines around the 1800's. Most of my ancestors, as well as everyone else in those days,were miners and I would like to put some body to their family tree if possible.
I'm looking at Monmouthshire in Abertillery, Blaenavon, Llanhilleth areas.
