Subject: Should add that prior to about 1901 I would try www.freebmd.co.uk first as that is free unlike www.1837online.co.uk which is pay per view. The advantage with the latter is that it contains all the official records unlike free BMD which contains volunteers' transcriptions and so is not complete as yet. The best tactic is to use freebmd first and then confirm or search again if no luck with 1837 online
