Subject: Re: Old Friends. Hiya Debbie. Can't say I remember the other people you mentioned ... mind you this was quite a while ago;) We're the same age, so obviously we were in the same year in Nantyglo, though I doubt we actually met. The way I remember it, most girls of 14-16 were far more interested in older boys ... fools! Quick question; what's a shire house? If you want to see photos of Aber from the 70s, have a look at the catergories on the left as you look at this site's 'home' page, infact I think there's a link to the Cwmtillery site ... well worth a look! Dai Llewellyn runs this site ( with considerable help from others), he was in school with us, but ofcourse, he's gone on to better things, barely speaks to the likes of us anymore, oh dear me no! Hiya Dai ;) Hope the family are well! Take care Debbie.

Hi Jamie. Not sure about the shire house but could it have been A Monmouthshire County Council house even tho we were Abertillery Urban District people got confused. I have heard shire houses refered to before and I think they were simply council houses. Poor Dai at least you have not picked on his hair style this time but after watching the news do you not now have a railway line down your parts, maybe you can have that pint now.
