I am researching my family history which appears to have been largely based around the Llanhilleth and Cwmtillery areas.
My late father's name was Ronald Leslie James and he was born in December 1905. I believe that the place of his birth was Llanhilleth. His father was Phillip James and I think that his mother was Elizabeth. They lived at 19 Hyde Place, Llanhilleth, certainly between 1919 and 1953 when Phillip James died. Elizabeth was involved in a mining accident and was left blind. My father worked in Llanhilleth Colliery at the time of his thirteenth birthday (1918). He married my mother Amy May Cooper in the Commercial Road Baptist Church, Llanhilleth on the day that the second World War broke out, the 2nd September 1939.

I am led to believe that my mother, Amy May Cooper, was born in Cwmtillery in December 1910 but subsequently moved to Bath. Her father's name was Robert Cooper and I think that her mother was also called Elizabeth.
I would be most grateful if anyone can add any further details regarding this family.
