Dampened in body and spirit by the sea and what it had taken from her, the now brown-toned mare walks over to where her radiant bay son stood silently. With a heart as heavy as her hoofsteps, she rests quietly beside him, equally as silent. Words meant so little these days... they never came close to expressing the heart. Better to commune in silent understanding.
