Mom, can you heal him? *She repeats her question, a little less upset now that he seemed to be resting easier. Almond lashes frame anxious eyes, and she jumps at the slight pressure on her legs from a certain foal*

He presses himself against his mother's legs, his tiny nostrils flared. "Is diddy ok?" He whispered. Perhaps... Perhaps a swim would make him feel better! It always made him feel good, to splash around in the surf.

[> Helping... -- Steel Dream, 20:23:28 02/07/03 Fri [1]

The chestnut Welsh Cob senses a searing pain within his domain and sends a gentle probing thought out to investigate. Quickly he discovers it is a badly-injured River Bend. Quelling his own shock he forces himself to remain calm, to take on the task at hand. Gently, as non-invasively as possible, he enters the other stallion's mind, releasing waves of soothing warmth into the tormented soul. He gradually shuts down the pain receptors on a temporary basis; River will not hurt while the Queen effects his healing. Calmly the Cob stimulates the areas of the brain that release endorphins, the hormones that create the feeling of being happy. His logic is that if River Bend feels psychologically better he will be able to cope with whatever has happened to him better... and a little extra happiness can never hurt.
