I read that ABC doesn't mention it's stepchild and only Emmy nominee for Best Show, Port Charles, at it's 50th(?) Anniversiary Party.

Hmmm.... People on the SoapZone board were wondering if the dialogue was written BEFORE Port Charles's Emmy Noms were announced.

As much as I think PC deserves to have a quick death, I feel like it sucks that a show that gave ABC Daytime for additional Emmy nominations was snubbed at it's own anniversiary show. And with that in mind, I clearly doubt ABC mentioned their other cancelled soaps Dark Shadows, Ryan's Hope, Loving, The City, The Edge of Night, etc.

So maybe this is a sign that ABC has finally thrown in the towel on PC. If it is cancelled, it will be interesting to see what Brian Fronz puts in it's place. The Last Resort is now airing on ABC Family and has apparenty become some sort of success over there(why else would they renew it for an additional 8 episodes?).

My idea(if the network is stupid enough to hop on the reality bandwagon)? "Soap Opera Idol" Every three months, someone is crowned with a plum job of being casted on a soap opera. But not until the producers go through all of the good AND the bad actors. My idea for judges? Clint Ritchie(Clint, OLTL), Mark Techner(GH/PC Casting Director) and Susan Lucci(Erica, AMC).

It seems like I bring this up every 3 months, but I can't help what I read about/hear.
