I agree with your point about why any soap vet would want to be on Pash. And I don't think it's nasty at all. These people have to be practical and make wise career choices. Given that Passions has not caught on and lingers at the bottom of the ratings, why would anyone want to be on the show unless it can jump-start their career? This leaves people with little to no experience (and we all know how that lack of quality shows) or others like Juliette Mills who hasn't had a career to speak of for several decades.

Passions is great for Galen Gehring because once the show is cancelled his fans will follow him. Argueably, he's probably the only rising star from this cast. Maybe Mackenzie Westmore too. As for the others, maybe a few will show up on other soaps. Look at how many actors have left the sinking ship already. Also, look at the rash of firings/recasts. To me it's a sure sign of desperation.

As for Austin Peck, the boy can't act and he's admitted in interviews that he isn't pinup material anymore. Passions is probably a good place for him. Ethan is such a bland, generic character that Peck could easily walk into the role. And it's not like Reilly would actually be able to come up with deep material for him anyway.

PS Hang in there Jerri, you're in my prayers
