I've heard internet gossip about ABC changing it's schedule to air PC at 3:30EST to give it an afterschool audience with the kids. That would move General Hospital to 12PMEST to compete with Young and the Restless.

But, did anyone think about these things??:

1) PC's ratings drop is partially credited to the writing staff. PC's rating surges have been, to put it nicely, overexaggerated. How much more money is ABC willing to shelve out for 20th Century Hits?(By this time next year, you'll see Port Charles: Heart of Glass

2) Let's look at Y&R vs GH. Young and the Restless is number one for a reason. A) For the most part, it is consistent. B) Good Writing, Fun Storylines. Although there's sperm switiching, Michael Jackson-esque detectives in disquise and VDs, you'll never find a martian, vampire or demons(maybe Phyllis) on this show.
GH has no direction at the moment, nor any consistency.

3) Affiliates may be inclined to throw in the towel on Port Charles altogether and air the lineup the way THEY want to air it.

4) Fans will be forced to choose between Y&R and GH. Hmmmm....Phyllis or NewCarly? Sharon or Courtney? That's a difficult choice.

Again, just a rumor, but I'm curious if they've thought of absolutely EVERYTHING.
