Correction... Y&R airs in the 12:30-1:30pm EST timeslot,
affiliates "own" the 12-1230 EST timeslot on all 3
networks, usually airing local news.

GH airing in the 1230-130pm EST timeslot would shift AMC and OLTL back a 1/2 hour later!!!

It isn't simply PC and GH switching times, the entire line-up would be changed.

ABC will prove to the world they are the biggest idiots in broadcasting if they change their entire daytime soap line-up just for the LOWEST RATED soap on the air to change
timeslots!

But guess what?? They aren't idiots after all! Its all part of their plan! It seemed ABC was thisclose to pulling the plug on PC and replacing it with a new reality show. What stopped it? I guess we are getting out answer now! Timeslot! ABC execs probably figured airing a reality show in the 12:30-1pm timeslot wouldn't serve them well for 2 reasons: #1 the younger audience isnt home to watch at 12:30 and #2, the affiliates that dont even air PC, might not air their reality show. So now by comming up with this timeslot change, it will give ABC a more favorable 3:30-4pm timeslot for their reality show.

Some PC fans might say, why not air PC at 3:30pm and
the reality show at 4pm? There is no way the ABC
affiliates will air any additional network daytime
programming, especially in the precious 4pm timeslot
which leads into local news at 5pm. If ABC wants
to launch their reality show, PC will have to go.
