I think if he was, he would fess up rather than let Abigail (and Molly) go through all they have since Nick was bumped off. You know Jake, he always protects his women. If anything, he would confess to something he hasn't done to protect someone. As far as Matt goes, he was 'ok', but not always my favourite character.
