Below is my personal soap viewing history followed
by comments on the status of the Emmy winning ATWT.
It's happening again....I like a soap alot, but
sooner or later, that soap falls from my grace.
No soap, except for the great Santa Barbara, has ever
been able to hold on to me for more than 2-3 years!
It's been a long journey since that sad January day
in 1993, when NBC killed the one soap that had
me hooked for over a 1/2 a decade! Since SB, I
have watched every soap on the air (except PC)
and add AW and LOV to my list. Currently I
tape/watch B&B and ATWT, both soaps are my 2nd run
viewing, I liked them/then dumped both soaps a few years
ago. I started watching ATWT again after dumping
GH (which I gave up for Lent last year, and come
Easter I said why not watch ATWT, I was curious to
see why it got nominated for so many Emmys).
ATWT has had one hell of a year (2001) and started
out 2002 stong, but lately... what the hell is
happening? I've been FF a lot. I can't stand
any scene Katie/Simon/Craig is in, and I liked
them before, same with Issac and Bonnie, and
whats up with Julia being brought back? I am
not entertained at all when watching an insane person.
Julia should have been killed when she kidnapped
Carly, right then and there, pop her off! OK don't
want violence? :) then lock her up and keep her there!
Don't bring her back! Can't the Emmy winning writers
come up with anything better? Seems like a classic
DAYS recycled storyline to me!
And to top that off.. comes news that Jake is leaving!
ATWT's recent glory days started to begin when Jake
and the Bay City crew came to Oakdale, how ironic, it
seems the glory days are ending the same time Jake is leaving.
