In reply to: Trey-Trey 's message, "OK, let's see, who is watching Days of our Lives these days?" on 14:06:15 04/02/02 Tue

I watched it a couple times last week. It is definitely improving. But the climax to the Sammi/Austin story, while delicious, has really been a letdown since we all knew Austin was leaving the show which make the outcome pretty predictable from the moment we heard they were moving ahead with marriage plans. Personally I still couldn't swallow why Austin would even talk to Sammi after all she did to wreck his marriage/relationship with Carrie. Without that plausibility I stopped caring about that whole story.

They need to get rid of the last bit of Stefano silliness like those inane henchmen who may as well have been characters in the old Batman tv show.

There's a few dud stories still going on like Shawn/Jan. Why does Days have to make every "good guy" so incredibly dimwitted??? Not to get into an abortion debate but exactly what business of it was Shawn's to badger Jan into not having an abortion? Many anti-abortion extremists will bend for cases of rape/incest. Personally I think NBC/Days didn't have the guts to let one of their characters have an abortion in a situation where many people would have thought it was perfectly OK.

And the same dud storyline status goes to Jennifer and Colin. Jen was gone too long and now the old magic/spunk just isn't there. Colin isn't living up to the big leading man, super-stud status that Days seemed to be looking for. And, although I love Jack (except for the fact that he raped Kayla), he's really being wasted in this thing with pretending to be gay for Greta. I missed out on why this is going on but it sure wreaks of an old Three's Company plotline.

I think that the resolution of the baby switch story will be pretty fun. I really want the show to get past it since it was another stupid Stefano orchestration. I'm thinking that the cancer story with Chloe will be pretty decent if the new writers can do it well. It also seems like the new writers are giving the older characters something to do besides act as background material for the teens. Do Doc & John ever do anything besides have talks with Belle and Brady????

Days, AMC and B&B are all on at the same time here. I find myself jumping between them when I have the time to watch at home. B&B is grabbing me more than the other two right now but none of them are must-see for me. I'd watch a repeat of Law & Order just as easily.

I'm betting a big hunk of Wisconsin cheese that Lisa has peaked in on Days lately too....
