I lived on east 85th between J and K also, and was friends with Louis. I remember he used to walk around eating these mini-heroes and I'd ask him what he was eating, and he's say "Salt, pepper and (olive) oil." My younger brother still lives in my parents home on the block. I am so sorry to hear about Louis' passing; he was a very nice guy, and I can picture his face and voice like it was yesterday.

Louie was my first boyfriend. I'll never forgot the night I met him when he was the lead singer in his band and I caught his eye when he sang to me at one of the St. Jude teen dances. He was so good looking. We were together until I moved to Long Island when I was 17 going on 18. It was tough for us to continue seeing each other. My dad didn't help the situation! I am so sad to hear about his passing!
Rest in Peace Louie!

Sorry to hear about Louie, also read Newsday and sorry to hear about your father passing away. I knew Louie when he lived on Church Lane. Then he moved to East 85 street between K an J. Then he moved to the corner house on 88 and L. He liked his music, and he played a pretie good guitar. He was a mellow guy. Not a bad bone in his body. Last time I saw Louie he was hanging out by Uncle Joe's deli on Ave L betwee 88 an 89 street. May he rest in peace.
