My mother has had shingles and has gotten over the initial part of it but she has had the pain associated with the shingles for 6 years and has come to realize everything she has done or taken has not helped with the pain. The doctor perscribed neurontin and I would like to know how this works and if it will benefit my mother. She can not take medications very well due to the effects it has on her and she has to discontinue them. Please can you help me with any information or advice as to what to do.
