I really sympathize with you. I just had my 10th surgery for endometriosis and continue to be in bed. I'm sure the cause of my pain is adhesions and scar tissue. I understand your fear of going on fetanyl patches, but I have used them now for about 6-7 months, and I take Statex on the side for breakthrough pain. I was on 75 mg. patches and changed them every 60 hours, but after my surgery I told my G.P. I woould like to go down to 50 mg. and see if that is sufficient. Unfortunately my pain has increased again, so I'm afraid I'll have to up the dose again. I have been on narcotics off and on for about 10+ years, and have never been addicted to anything. If you have tried a variety of narcs and used them a fair bit, then I wouldn't worry about addiction. Some doctors say that if a patient is in true pain, then they won't become addicted. Please discuss the patches with your doctor. They have been a Gos sent for me. Good luck and feel free to email me at: nbraun@primus.ca
