Chantal, keep trying and you will find help, either chemical or other. I broke my neck in 2003 on my son's 5th birthday. Had it fused 3-6; its crooked and hurts with a vengence. Despite fears of becoming an angry republican reactionary, I tried Oxycontin. It helps with the moderate/constant pain, but not for break through type pain that makes you cry in public. Some people get relief from morphine patches but others are too stoned to function. Keep in mind that these drugs would make a healthy person depressed, so you will need to treat that too. Take good care and find a support system.
