Explain what a genre-based approach is.
I understood that the genre-based approach is the possibility of applying the theory of socio-discoursive interactionism in the production of didactic material based on the notion of genre as tool for the teaching of a foreign language.
Students can develop the ability to transfer from one mode of language use to another in a way that reflects the language behavior and expectations of an language academic learning environment.
In summary, genre-based approach is a way to teach the different genres used in writting texts as well as the specific purpose that each of them have into the context in which they are produced for.
