Subject: Twelfth Task

Create a good communication activity and describe it to your classmates. Say which type it is, according to Littlewood.
According to Littlewood I am going to create a type of "Processing information" communicative activity.
First of all I am explaining my decision. I think "Processing information" as a type of communicative activity is an excellent one because the stimulus for communication appears in a discussion among students, and all of them have a knowledge of the activity in a whole sense of it and each of them have an opportunity to show and explaining their own point-of-view about it in order to solve a problem or reach a decision. In other words, this type of activity is more interactive or at least it realizes a interaction among participants so much.
I will suggest a practical activity, which istudents can be using it in their near future.
A composition of price in an English school to establish how much money each student will pay for this course will be required in this activity. They must discuss several possibilities to prepare these prices for making a competitive school, for it will be full of students.
We can give to students the follow data:
- An English school for five hundred students is required,
- This course must have four levels, and each classroom with maximum fifty students. (we can put less than it, if it will be an economic way),
- The building of the school has thirty classrooms and we will pay R$4.000,00 (four thousand reais),
- The parallel expenses in the school are R$30.000,00 (three thousand reais) for paying teachers, maids, guards, etc,
- The whole taxes represent 40% (forty percent) of the parallel expenses.
The problem is: a competitive monthly shool fees to each students is R$120,00 (a hundred and twenty reais). How cold we do to get it and we will have 10% (ten percent) of profit.
In these activity, students must not only analyse these informations, but they can get another data, from their reserch and justitying their answers.
I think this is one pedagogical exercise and it can provide a stimulus for communicative interaction if it will be done collaboratively in groups.
