Task 9 June 30th to July 4th

Explain what a task-based approach is. Describe its main characteristics.

The tasks based approach is a method of presenting learners with different tasks in order to aid them in developing the skill to solve them. As the task become more difficult the learners are required to develop improved set of communicative skills.

According to Krashen (1982) a second language acquisition will have better results if the learner tries to create similar conditions to those present in first language acquisition.
Suggesting that learners will be given a task to perform and the communication provided for them to solve it would be the second language in question. The tasks must appropriate to the level and skills of the learners, as well as interesting to them in order to provide motivation for the learners to solve them.
