Subject: Task 9

A task-based approach consists on a sequenced task developed according to specific levels, which should take in account cognitive and communicative procedures. This activity is divided basically into 3 different steps: pre-task, task cycle and post-task. The pre-task comprehends a moment of observation, discovery of the topic and brainstorming. This moment is totally necessary in order to get a previous analysis of students level what is called task classification. The tasks must be based on specific levels for not being so difficult or so easy for the students, however they must be challenging. After this selection teacher must be prepared with the criteria for grading them. At the second step (task cycle) students are exposed to classroom interaction, so they are supposed to work in pairs or groups. At this moment students should be engaged in it to get gap information and to reach real out-comes in the language learning. Finally, in the post-task students should be in touch with the real-life application of the lesson, reading activities and listening to lectures.
