Subject: Task 9

1 - Explain what a task-based approach is. Describe its main characteristics.

Task-based approach focus on achieving communication. Students are given activities or tasks where they find real life situation, learning how to use the language instead of studying the language itself.

It’s also interesting how this approach is applied. It focus on the students and how to make their learning process more pleasant. Motivation has an important role in this approach.

Teachers must work as “guides” or “monitors” helping students out through their learning process. By that, they facilitate students learning, involving them in the tasks and making they fell in control of their own learning.
