i agree with u that communication can not be restricted to dialogs... there are many other kinds of communication (even music and paintings might be considered as a means of communication, depending on the concept u adopt...)

going back to the buying a car class, perhaps, if the author of the activity had been a little bit more specific about what to do with the "reports", one interesting form of communication could be stablished *... but, since the author did not specify an alternative kind of communication to be stablished, i infered that S/he was refering to live conversation/dialogs...



*... (for instance, if the students were supposed to exchange the reports among themselves, make some kind of review, i dont know...)
