Subject: Task 7

1 – Analyze the following lesson plan having Ryan's text as reference.
http://www.lessonplanspage.com/OConsumerEdBuyCar912.htm

According to Ryan’s text there are some aspects that must be observed in a communicative class, such as feedback – teachers must provide enough feedback so students won’t have a loss on their motivation and interest; directions – teachers must show students directions, clarifying goals; having consistency in teaching style – teachers are expected to be their students’s friend-coach but they also have to be very strict in some aspects; routine or framework – students need to have a routine so that they can feel comfortable to speak in front of others; cultural awereness – culture plays a important role in a communicative class and teachers should know how to recognize the influence of it and also know how to deal with that; teacher relationship – teachers must choose and establish the kind of relationship their are going to have with their students. Considering these aspects, especially the routine or framework (the checklist – warm-up, presentation, controlled and free practice, feedback), the activity proposed by Wells can work well but there are some aspects missing, like feedback. The activity has some good aspects like controlled and free practice, but it doesn’t give students enough feedback even in the warm-up. It can lead to the loss of student’s interest and motivation A positive side of this activity is that it envolves all the skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening).
